The latest batch of material to be published on the FIFA Training Centre website features a discussion on the role of the academy director and in-depth analysis of Chelsea FC's 3-4-3 system.

The team behind the team

The directors of youth academies play a key role in developing young talent within their respective clubs. As well as having the final say when it comes to recruiting both players and coaches into the club's youth system, they are responsible for shaping the overall philosophy of the club and ensuring this philosophy is transmitted to young players. Away from the pitch, academy directors are also expected to manage the academy's budget and staff. For the first of this week's two new releases, we spoke to Jane Ludlow of Manchester City WFC and Jean Kindermans of RSC Anderlecht to find out what their jobs as academy directors are all about.

Game Insights

The second new addition to the Training Centre takes an in-depth look at Chelsea FC's formidable 3-4-3 system, as demonstrated to great effect at the last FIFA Club World Cup™. In the latest instalment of our Game Insights series, FIFA's Group Leader for Football Performance Analysis & Insights Chris Loxton is joined by Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger and Senior Football & Goalkeeping Expert Pascal Zuberbühler to explain the fundamental principles underpinning Chelsea's system, how it works in practice, and how goalkeepers Édouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga integrate into manager Thomas Tuchel's tactical vision.
