Gilberto is no stranger to the World Cup format. The midfielder played every minute of Brazil’s victorious campaign in 2002 and featured heavily in the 2006 edition. Over a period of nine years, his exploits on the international stage saw him earn 89 caps for the Seleção. At club level, Gilberto’s experience is equally impressive. The midfield maestro spent six years at Arsenal and was at the heart of the Gunners’ “Invincibles” side of the 2003-04 season. He also had spells at Brazilian clubs América Mineiro, Atlético Mineiro and Grêmio.
