FIFA Talent Development Scheme Insights: FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™

This report analyses the composition and performance of the national teams that participated in the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™, which took place from 3 to 27 November 2025 and was the first edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup™ to feature the expanded format.

It involved a 48-team line-up (up from the previous 24) and ushered in the annual staging of a competition that was previously held biennially. Qatar has been awarded the hosting rights for the FIFA U-17 World Cup™ from 2025 to 2029. All six confederations featured in the tournament field, with at least seven nations flying the flag for each of the continental governing bodies, with the exception of the OFC, which was represented by three teams.
