Session 2
Switching play with purpose
Next, Flores’ focus shifts to ball circulation and switching the play. Players rehearse switching the ball across the pitch, and learn how and when to change direction with precise movements to unbalance opponents and stretch defensive lines.

Session 3
Turning defence into attack
To round off, Flores turns the players’ attention to defending. Mexico practise pressing and counter-pressing, beginning with a simple 5v2 rondo and building up to an 8v8 possession game, applying discipline, resilience and intensity to their training.

Session 2
The day before the game
