From December 7 to 9, Siguatepeque, Comayagua, felt the excitement of the Tres Naciones Fest, a tournament where the U-15 national teams of Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua delivered a memorable spectacle.

The "Casa de la H" technical centre came alive like never before with a true celebration of football! This triangular competition, supported by the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS), not only showcased the exceptional level of its players but also served as further proof of the transformative power of youth football in Central America.

The competition delivered nonstop action, but the grand finale stole the show: an intense battle between Honduras and Guatemala. The Catrachos, led by Gaspar Vallecillo, FFH Technical Advisor, and Carlo Cataldo, FIFA Talent Coach, claimed victory in a match that had it all—thrills, creativity, and the spark that defines young talent. “This tournament gave players a valuable taste of international competition with their neighbours and a glimpse of what the FIFA U-17 World Cup could feel like,” Cataldo shared, emphasising the importance of such experiences for player growth.

On the other side, Guatemala, under the guidance of fellow FIFA Talent Coach Vicent Benlloch, fought until the very last minute, proving that the new generation is ready to shine on the football stage. “The tournament provided a great opportunity to assess player profiles and set new goals for their development,” Benlloch reflected. “It was a truly positive experience for all three federations.”

Beyond the goals and celebrations, the Tres Naciones Fest underscored the crucial role of Talent Coaches, who guide their teams on the pitch while shaping the future of football development through the implementation of TDS methodologies.

This competition illustrates how TDS pillars are driving innovation and growth in youth football. In Honduras, FIFA funds granted in 2023 have boosted the expansion of scouting and training centres, with the Honduran Football Association (FFH) working diligently to strengthen and extend these advancements.

Moreover, the efforts are not limited to men’s football; the recent triumph of the U-15 girls’ national team at the 2024 Concacaf Girls U-15 Championship reflects the impact of this comprehensive approach.

The Tres Naciones Fest reminded us that football’s essence lies in every touch, every bit of passion, and the commitment that makes it shine. And Central America's talent holds the promise of great achievements ahead!
