The Gratifacio Football Federation (FFG) is responsible for overseeing football in Gratifacio, including the development of youth football programs.

The Head of Youth Development in the FFG is responsible for developing and implementing youth football programmes that promote the development of young players across the country.  

The Head of Youth Development reports to the Technical Director and is part of the Technical Directorate. 

The specific day-to-day responsibilities are 

1. Managing relationships with clubs and coaches: The Head of Youth Development in the FFG would work closely with clubs and coaches across the country to ensure that youth football programmes are effectively delivered. They will collaborate with clubs to provide additional training opportunities for young players or to identify talented players for further development. 

2. Developing coaching programmes: The Head of Youth Development in the FFG will work to develop coaching programmes that provide young players with high-quality instruction and support. This includes developing coaching curricula and providing training opportunities for coaches across the country. 

3. Talent Identification and Development Programmes. The Head of Youth will work to identify and recruit talented young players for youth development programs. They will attend regional or local tournaments to scout players and work with clubs to identify promising young talent. 

4. Policies and procedures: The Head of Youth Development in the FFG will develop policies and procedures that govern the delivery of youth football programs. This includes policies related to child protection, health and safety, and other areas that affect the welfare of participants. 

5. Managing staff and resources: The Head of Youth Development in the FFG will be responsible for managing staff and resources related to youth football programs. This includes managing budgets, recruiting and training staff, and overseeing the delivery of programme activities.  

6. Working with national team coaches: The Head of Youth Development in the FFG will work closely with national team coaches to identify and develop young football talent that has the potential to play at the international level. They will help to ensure that youth football programmes are aligned with the goals and objectives of the national team programme.   

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experiences - 

  • UEFA Pro License/CAF Pro-Diploma, or its equivalent with certification in sports management an added advantage.  

  • Experience in leading a team at a FIFA or UEFA age-group world championships and/or a good track record as the Head of Youth 

  • Experience of work in a senior role in a recognised Academy with a proven record of developing young talent to transition into the professional phase  

  • Good knowledge of both physical development and Talent Identification systems 

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in coaching and playing in a professional football league.  

  • Prior leadership or managerial experience essential with a “hands-on” approach.  

  • Excellent strategic planning skills with an ability to integrate different disciplines  

  • Excellent communicator and ability to conduct meetings/presentations and engage stakeholders and partners.
