Work is already underway on the next batch of training sessions for the FIFA Training Centre, produced with the help of Mamelodi Sundowns FC and the South African FA.

The team from the FIFA Training Centre is currently in South Africa filming some exciting new training sessions for the website. Their first port of call will be Pretoria, where they will work with academy teams from Mamelodi Sundowns FC and the South African Football Association on drills covering a range of techniques, including counter-attacking against a high-block.

Off the training ground, the FTC will also be interviewing a number of local coaches, including Mamelodi Sundowns Head Coach Rulani Mokwena. His side currently sit 10 points clear at the top of South Africa’s Premier Soccer League, with a 100% record from their eight league matches, and the Training Centre will be exploring the secrets of their success.

Finally, the trip will also see the next stage in the role out of FIFA’s Talent Coach programme, which aims to develop the next generation of talented young footballers and make football more competitive across the globe. You can find out more about the initiative here.

Everyone connected with the FIFA Training Centre would like to take this opportunity to thank Mamelodi Sundowns and the South African Football Association for their kind hospitality. Keep an eye on the Training Centre website to access the new sessions as soon as they are published.
